BRIEF HISTORY:
Kisumu Archdiocese is located in Nyanza Province, Kenya. The first missionaries, Mill Hill Fathers, came to the area in 1903. It was then part of the Vacariate Apostolic of the Upper Nile. In 1925 it became a separate territory under the name of Prefecture Apostolic Kavirondo.
In 1932 it was raised to Vicariate Apostolic of Kisumu. In 1953 it was raised to Diocese of Kisumu.
In 1990 it was raised to Archdiocese of Kisumu. It comprises Kisumu,Bondo, Nyandoand Siaya districts
