BRIEF HISTORY:

The Diocese of Murang'a is located in the Central province. It includes the folowind districts of the Central Province: Murang’a, Maragua Kandara, Kakuzi and Kirinyaga, including Gatanga Division of Thika District. The area was first evangelized by the Consolata Missionary Society when they arrived at Tuthu on June 29, 1902. It was split form the diocese of Nyeri on March 17, 1983.
