BRIEF HISTORY:
The Archdiocese of Mombasa is located in the Coast Province of Kenya. The Diocese of Mombasa was erected in May 1955. It was formerly part of the Archdiocese of Nairobi. In 1965 Zanzibar and Pemba Islands were separated from the Diocese of Mombasa and placed under the Administration of the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam. It became Archdiocese on June 2, 1990. It comprises of Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi and Taita- Taveta Districts in Coast Province.
